Packing for Impact Retreat
Below is a list of things we recommend you bring with you to retreat to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Note: be sure to eat lunch before you arrive on the first day of retreat. The first meal offered will be dinner. On the final day of retreat, we will give you breakfast and you will be responsible for your own lunch after you depart at noon.
- Sleeping bag or set of sheets, and a pillow (our cabins have twin-sized bunk beds) NOTE: cabins tend to get very cold at night so bring plenty of bedding!)
- Toiletries and towel
- Comfortable Clothing for four days
- Clothes for competition day (comfortable, athletic type clothes you're okay getting sweaty in!)
- Clothes for our Neon Night Dance Party (glow sticks welcome!)
- Tennis shoes (primarily for competition day and dance party)
- Personal medications, inhaler, or hygiene products
- Bible/Journal/Pen
- A water bottle that can be reused (it’s going to be hot!)
- Personal hand sanitizer or face covering if you wish to use one
- Backpack or small personal bag to carry around your daily items
- Flashlight or headlamp
- Sun screen/bug spray
- Phone and phone charger (though cell service is not great!)
What not to bring
We highly recommend that you do not bring valuables (i.e. expensive jewelry) or items that you would be concerned about getting lost or damaged during retreat. We do not assume any responsibilities for your items while at retreat and do not want you to risk something that is of high value to you.
medications and medical supplies
If you have any medical condition that requires special medical equipment you are bringing (i.e. nebulizer) or prescribed medicines, please bring these items to the med station at the start of retreat. If you have an epi-pen or inhaler, please keep these items on you AND inform your counselor and camp leaders of their location in case they need to find it for you.
Asthma, Inhalers, and Breathing Problems
If you have ever had issues with breathing, levels of asthma, or needed an inhaler at any point, PLEASE BRING personal items in case we need to administer care (i.e. inhaler, nebulizer inhalation solution, etc.) and let your counselor and our medic know what you have brought once you arrive at our retreat.
