Howdy!
The transition into college is a pivotal shift in life. It marks a stepping out into the real world where there is a tone of independence where no one is telling you what to do or not to do. For many high school graduates, it means leaving the life they have always known and stepping into a world that is unknown and unstable. College will be a time when many critical life decisions will be made, and walking this path alone is a weight that no individual can take on successfully. Impact is an organization dedicated to the mission of proclaiming one message: in a time when everything is shifting and changing, there is One who remains constant. His name is Jesus Christ and He is an anchor for the soul.
We are here to help incoming Class of 2016 step into college with a foundation built on truth and fellowship, centered on the person and works of Jesus Christ. We exist to ease this transition by connecting freshmen with local churches in the Bryan/College Station area, and providing them with a support group of Christian brothers and sisters who will walk with them through the trials they will face. Our desire is to see all freshmen walk in the freedom that they are loved by God regardless of what they do, for they have been made righteous by what Christ has done: he took on the atoning death on a Cross, which makes righteous those who look upon it in faith, and then resurrected from the grave, which conquered death and gives us the promise of eternal life with God. He alone can ascribe a worth that does not fade. We want to start each incoming student’s college career with the knowledge that their identity and worth is not based on a test grade, how they look, who they marry, or what they do, but rather on the free gift of grace extended to them. This is the gospel, and this is what we are about. We desire to be the aroma of Christ that is described in 2 Corinthians 2:14-17.
As Aggies, we go out and become leaders. It’s just what we do. We want to take all this potential and point it towards the only kingdom that will not fade. We want to set students up for success, so they may someday stand up for justice and peace in a dark world as godly husbands, wives, CEOs, researchers, teachers, or whatever they aspire to be. If you are a parent, know your student is loved and being prayed over even as you read this. If you are a student, we want you to know that you are not alone in your struggles and fears about the future. We are here to walk with you. We are here to know Him, and make Him known, for He is everything.
By His grace,
