First let me take the chance to introduce myself. My name is Amy Marks and I am an Accounting major from Cedar Park, TX and a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2010. Wait, but it's 2011! Yes, that's right. And while there is nothing wrong with taking 5 years (or 6!) to graduate, I actually have a pretty good excuse. I am in a 5 year accounting program at the Mays Business School that will allow me to graduate next month with a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's degree in management information systems. So in about 6 weeks I will go from being pretty much unqualified to do anything to having a master's degree.
I am at the stage of my life where I am looking forward to my upcoming graduation and whether I want it to or not, my college career will come to a close. At the same time, I have been working diligently with the rest of our Impact staff to prepare for a wonderful group of incoming freshman and be among the first to welcome the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2015 to Texas A&M. It's a strange position to be so close to the end of my time here, yet preparing for the beginning of the Aggie experience for so many others.
I have sincerely loved every moment of my time at Texas A&M and wouldn't trade it for anything. While I am sad to be leaving College Station, I am so grateful to have the opportunity to invest in this next generation of Aggies.
