Howdy!
My name is Sam Paik and I am a senior civil engineering major here at Aggieland. God has blessed me the past 4 years in ways that I can’t even describe. Whether it’s serving through Impact or attending my classes, every time I walk out of my front door has been an opportunity to reflect the name of Jesus through my words and actions.
I will be graduating from Texas A&M in December 2011 and in this period of my life I can’t help but reminisce about the past few years here. I was cleaning out my flash drive and I noticed that I still had the files for applications that I wrote for Impact staff positions in the past. Some of these apps were from my freshman and sophomore years. As I was reading through them, it caught me off guard when I realized how much I’ve grown when it comes to my relationship with Christ. Every day I learn something new about our Savior, but every time I do, I realize there’s always more to learn. It’s humbling knowing that we can never fully grasp the Father’s love that’s so big that we can’t comprehend it.
Ephesians 3:17-18 says “so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ”. His love has 4 dimensions. What? That doesn’t make sense! But the beauty of it is that it doesn’t have to. He gave this love as a gift to us so that we can change as we grow closer to Him while we embark on this journey called Christianity.
I guess my challenge for the class of 2015 is to come to college with no expectations. These next 4+ years of your life can seem like an unknown, but Lord has a specific plan for you that is good. God is going to rock your world in a beautiful way, and while the turbulence can be scary, He will provide the support and confidence you need to boast His name and Gospel through it all.
